Bridging the Gap Between Dev and Ops

We’re moving so fast on features that I’m worried we’re leaving the Ops team behind.

That’s a valid concern, and it happens often when product velocity outpaces operational readiness. If Ops isn’t evolving alongside development, gaps start to appear—especially during incidents. New features introduce new dependencies, and without proper visibility or updated runbooks, the Ops team is forced into reactive mode.

This is where aligning Dev and Ops becomes critical. Investing in shared tooling, better observability, and business/process automation helps both sides stay in sync. Automation can standardize deployments, alerts, and responses so Ops isn’t constantly catching up. As highlighted here: https://devops.com/when-customer-facing-systems-fail-how-incident-response-and-observability-reduce-mttr/ balancing speed with operational maturity is key to maintaining reliability.
